117.4 gram individual fragment of NWA 4292, an L6, S1, W2 chondrite found 2005 in the Sahara desert.
Scientists and I nicknamed this meteorite “Old Yeller” because of the lack of fusion crust on most pieces and its color.
We theorize that this meteorite must have broken up at low altitude accounting for the lack of fusion crust, kind of like the Tatahouine Diogenite fall.
The TKW for this meteorite is less than 12 kilograms. This meteorite comes with an identification card from The Hupé Collection.
